For the last few years, I’ve been ordering customized holiday photo cards to send out to friends and family instead of buying them from the store – and it’s become my favorite tradition to send and receive! This year though, on top of fun cards, you can even make scented holiday cards that smell good enough to eat! Here’s how you can make your own essential oil scented holiday cards this year!
We’ve been using Minted for our holiday cards for years, and they did it again. I’m slightly obsessed!

How to store all of those holiday cards you receive:
We’ve been storing our cards this way and it’s so fun to flip through past years and see how everyone has grown! Just gather a shower curtain ring and a hole punch and you’re set!
How to Make Your Own Essential Oil Scented Holiday Cards
What are Aromatherapy Christmas Cards?
To make a Christmas card that smells as good as it looks, send along the gift of aromatherapy as well. Whether you’re making your own DIY Christmas cards, ordering holiday cards or buying from the store, a few drops of essential oil can take your cards to the next level.
Along with smelling AMAZING, essential oil infused holiday cards can add aromatherapy benefits as well, like sharpened focus, uplifted moods, refreshed air, smooth breathing and more.
Add Scent & Spice
Making your own scent-infused holiday cards can be a fun way to personalize your greetings. With just a few simple ingredients, you can easily whip up scented holiday cards—and smell festive in no time at all. To get started, pick an essential oil for its scent and healing properties.
A couple of my favorite Christmas card combinations are below:
Christmas Tree Blend: Pine + Cypress + Nutmeg + Orange
Christmas Morning: Orange + Pine or Fir + Cinnamon
Infusing your Holiday Cards with Essential Oil
Grab a gallon-size zip-top bag to enclose your Christmas cards. Using 2-3 cotton balls/rounds, add a few drops on each of essential oil you’re using. Seal the bag and leave for 2 days for the aromatherapy scents to infuse the cards. This is such a great way to spread a boost of Christmas cheer!
Besides the blends listed above, more great Christmas oils for scented holiday cards are black spruce, bergamot, vanilla, or clove.
We have some FAVORITE diffuser blends for the holidays, and ANY of these would be simply amazing on a Christmas card! Along with these fall blends, too!
