Easy Gift Wrap DIY Ideas Without The Headache

So you really only need a few items to get ALL of your Christmas presents wrapped and under the tree… but there is always more too it than that right? Take the easy route and make your presents look customized, personalized and glam, but all WITHOUT the headache! Today I’m showing you my foolproof way to get it done with these easy gift wrap ideas.  Check out the video below that I shared on SheSpeaks.tv and read on for my best tips on getting your gift lists ready with less stress 😉

Here’s how it works… I typically spend a couple of evenings wrapping. First, once the kids are in bed, I’ll put in a Christmas movie or get whatever show that I decide to binge watch during Christmas break ready and then I’ll get out my big roll of butcher block paper and get to wrapping them all (here I’ll mark with a pencil on the bottom of the present who it’s for so that I don’t forget or get presents mixed up… that would be bad!). Keep the paper basic and use butcher block paper and/or black and white craft paper to keep the presents uniform, easy to wrap and easy to decorate, plus, less to choose from means less stress. I found a HUGE roll of butcher block paper online for cheap and it’s lasted me years, but you can also find at your local craft store as well. It’s pretty easy to just wrap and repeat and by the time the movie is over, or usually well before it finishes, I have a big stack of presents ready for the final touches.

This is when it comes to evening number two. With Christmas music and a fire, or another movie, the decorative touches are what really give these gifts their special pop! I keep a few items on hand like chalk ink, metallic markers, twine, washi tape, ribbon and then either sprigs of greenery or other festive sprigs. Keep everything as simple or as detailed as you want to! You can go minimal with some twine and call it a day, or move into that creative side of your brain with some fun drawings with chalk ink or metallic markers. Washi tape is a great option as well for creating fun shapes on the gift or just holding twine in place. Oh, and don’t forget the batteries! With three kids in the house (and a man who likes gadgets), we usually invest in a big pack of them ahead of time so that there aren’t any tears come Christmas morning or frantic searches and stealing from the television remotes. 😉
