If you’ve been around for a while, you know that I’ve worked with Omaha Steaks for a long time now… and I still place my monthly order to stock up my freezer with Omaha Steaks meals. If you happen to be new here, well, let me let you in on one of my little obsessions – and how I make meal planning happen more easily while keeping a stocked freezer for my family.
I mean, with a #PartyofEight as our family, it’s no secret that meal planning is a must. Think of it, EIGHT schedules to juggle on any given day. And with our twins now in swim lessons, they’re already taking up a piece of that schedule puzzle.
We’ve got eight mouths to feed, daily. And that’s no small feat, let me tell you.
So, meal planning and online food orders along with grocery delivery is WHERE IT’S AT.
I used to scoff at the idea of ordering groceries online, and then of course, 2020 happened. I have to say, though, the time, extra expense (because we all know that we spend more when we browse the aisles), and the headaches it’s saved me to NOT have to walk into a grocery store? It’s been amazing! And now, I rarely do.
Meal planning cuts down on waste – The Natural Resource Defense Council, reports that Americans routinely throw away 200 pounds of food annually, costing a family of four about $1,500 per year.

Omaha Steaks Meals
Why Omaha Steaks Meals?
Along with our standard groceries from local markets, we place an order each month from Omaha Steaks. I like to get our meat (and usually mix it up a little each month to try a few new things), some sides and then I’ll go for a slow cooker meal or two for those “just in case” days.
I like that the fifth-generation family owner, Bruce Simon, still oversees beef procurement from local farms. They are selective about getting the best meat, and that is a benefit that is passed on to the customer.
I find that the quality and taste has been better than what I can get at my local supermarket. So while I order my household items and staples at the grocery, I stick to stocking my freezer with meats from Omaha Steaks.
Omaha Steaks uses Flash Freezing.
Flash freezing is very different than sticking steaks in the freezer at home. It’s much, much colder, and much, much faster. This fast freezing technique ensures the meat isn’t damaged, because the water inside doesn’t have time to expand. Steaks and other meats are essentially frozen in time – capturing peak flavor and tenderness.
Omaha Steaks are Vacuum Sealed
Omaha Steaks individual vacuum-sealed packaging means that your meat looks and tastes exactly as it should. And it reduces food waste, too – you’ll only need to thaw what you’re going to cook at that moment, leaving the rest of your Omaha Steaks order frozen until you’re ready.
Simple Cooking
While ordering a variety of meats (some of which I wasn’t familiar with cooking before Omaha Steaks) can be a little intimidating, especially since I usually spring for a package to take advantage of the savings, on the back of each box, the company provides the simple step-by-step preparation and cooking instructions, and usually the seasoning too.
With that said, depending on the meal, we’ve broken the pricing down to $5 a person or less, and so even if a stock-up-package dips into our grocery budget, I know that it will be spread out over the month – and worth it.
A Week of Meals with Omaha Steaks
Okay, now that we’ve talked about why I order from Omaha Steaks, we don’t actually end up eating from Omaha Steaks every. single. day. But, it does make the rounds through our meal planning a few times a week!
To showcase the kind of variety we have with our orders, I prepared a week of meals with Omaha Steaks, all items pulled from our stocked freezer and pantry, on our Instagram Stories the other day, and thought this would be a great place to share it as well.
Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs
I’ve actually shared this simple recipe before here: The Easiest Slow Cooker Ribs Recipe You Will Ever Make
And it’s SO GOOD! A favorite in our home. Along with the ribs, we added a side vegetable and even pulled some individual Omaha Steaks pineapple upside down cakes from our freezer for dessert!
I even invited my parents to join us… and we had enough for us all.
Slow Cooker Pot Roast
One of our recent family stock up packages had a pot roast, and it was still in our freezer. For this meal, I just added whatever veggies I had in the fridge – some baby carrots (Aria’s favorite snack!), onion, potato and celery, and then cooked according to the box directions.
We added in some biscuits (from our fridge) and an Omaha Steaks cheesecake from our freezer. So good.
Sheet Pan Salmon
While I actually forgot to take a photo of this meal, I did share a video of it to our Instagram stories! For this, we cooked up a handful of salmon filets on a sheet pan, and a tray of creamed spinach – both from Omaha Steaks. To the meal, we just added a side of rice and dinner was ready!
Italian Sausage Alfredo
We had some Italian sausages in our freezer and lots of pasta in our pantry! This was a hearty meal of Alfredo pasta, topped with Omaha Steaks Italian Sausage, served with a simple salad and breadsticks.
Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili
This is another meal that makes the rounds in our home quite often. In fact, we rotate between our Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili and our Family Favorite Chili Recipe on the regular.
The Bottom Line on Omaha Steaks Meals
There are some good deals to be had, and I like to wait for a free shipping offer for my orders which can save a great deal… so keep an eye out for those. Thankfully they come around quite often!
Overall, the convenience is the greatest benefit. And the option to get packages and try new meals and different meats that I may not otherwise try.
Even if you don’t order for yourself, Omaha Steaks makes for great gifts for friends and family, and I’ve sent them others’ way quite a few times as well, and it’s always a hit.
